With the warmer weather upon us, it only makes sense that more and more people will be hosting cookouts. One popular cook-out food is smoked sausages and brats. Unfortunately, one popular brand recently issued a recall for some of its ready-to-eat smoked sausages. Earlier this week, Johnsonville recalled about 95,393 pounds of ready-to-eat jalapeño cheddar smoked sausages over concerns they may contain chunks of hard green plastic, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.The affected products were manufactured and packaged for distribution on March 12 and 13, 2019. All the packages have a best-by date of June 9, 2019, and 'EST.34224' printed inside the USDA mark of inspection.The issue was discovered earlier this year after the company received customer complaints claiming they found chunks of plastic in the sausages. Fortunately, there have been no reports of illnesses or adverse reactions.
